There are concerns in a America still about the obesity problems especially as research has thrown up some astonishing figures. It appears that there are about a third of all US citizens that are classified as being obese, whereas this used to be the status of the so called lazy, this problem is now affecting people from all walks of life, no matter what class, race, age or location.

The heart of the matter, is diet and it would seem that the availability of fast and processed food that is the cause of this problem, and yet they are failing to provide proper provision for people to be able to leave their cars behind and either walk or cycle to work etc.

Apart from the obvious health hazards, there is an impact on the country’s economy too, to the extent of around $93 billion worth of medical bills and 112,000 people dying from an obesity related cause.
