Stem Cells from skin

In the US and Japan there have been two groups working on how to produce stem cells from human skin, and it would appear that they have succeeded, and this success could end the long running problems with using stem cells from embryos.

The cells developed from skin cells could be used in the treatment of cancer, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases, diabetes, arthritis, spinal cord injuries, strokes, burns and heart disease, as with this method it could be used to produce a genetic code that will help the body accept transplanted organs.

However there are still problems that plague this type of research, mainly on ethical grounds, and yet should this prove to be able to help extremely ill people then doesn’t that take precedence over any ethical problems? Its matter that will be argued for a long time.
