Bird flu to human’s link found
The avian flu virus has been evolving over the years since its discovery in 1997. The virus was not as dangerous to humans then, as the most recent strain is.
However researchers at the UW Madison School of Veterinary Medicine have found a protein that helps the virus itself to infect cells in the upper respiratory system. This means that it is capable of infecting even more different cell types and therefore is going to be much easier to spread.
This does mean that there is a simple solution, the virus is out there and could easily become a danger to many people, no matter where they live.
