Detecting cancer with lasers

It is a well known fact that catching cancer early can vastly improve the patient’s chances of surviving the disease.

In research being carried out by Dr. Patrick McCann, and a small group of internationally known researchers at the University of Oklahoma, are working on an early detection system using lasers, which can find specific biomarker gases in the patient’s breath.

This is a new science, which is using a similar principal to that seen when animals such as dogs can detect diseases like cancer in people. If the team can replicate this in this device, early detection is going to be a matter of fact.
