LSD a viable treatment

There is no doubt that LSD has had a bad press over that last forty years or so and it is probably right too, but like so many of these pioneering drugs, LSD could now be used to treat thousands of people who would otherwise be suffering in silence.

Rick Doblin of Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (Maps) is hoping to get the green light to head up a research programme, which will set out to prove that LSD and other similar drugs can be a viable treatment for sufferers of treatment-resistant post-traumatic stress disorder.

The research is just waiting for the go ahead from the Canadian government, where it is believed that under the right conditions patients can be treated and virtually cured from a variety of problems related to stress and other problems associated with isolation.
