The brain works while we sleep

Getting a good nights sleep can be more productive than most people think, many people produce their best thoughts while lying in bed getting a bit of rest and relaxation.

Research being carried out by Dr Sophie Schwartz, from the University of Geneva has found that a proper nights sleep will stimulate more connection within the brain, this will in turn help the person learn about what they have taken in and help the memory to store it in an organised manner.

By testing volunteers who were given certain tasks to remember, while some were allowed to sleep, others were kept awake. When the tasks were repeated they those that had slept on the problem were able to work things out in better and more efficient way.
