Increase in female students for BME

There is a continued interest from women who wish to follow a career in Biomedical Engineering (BME) according to the students who have expressed and interest in studying the subject at Washington University. The ratio of male and female students once again is showing a slight increase in the favour of women, which is a good thing.

The actual figures are 68 female to 229 male, engineers, but 31 of those is interested specifically in biomedical engineering, which would take the percentage of females taking BME up to 38 per cent, which is a respectable figure.

The BME subject actually covers more than you would think, Mathematics, Physics, Biology and Chemistry.
