TV is an asthma risk

In a study of Asthma sufferers, by researchers at the Catholic University in Rome they have found that children who are spending too much time sitting or lying in front of the TV could be increasing their risk of developing asthma.

It was found that the children who spent more than five hours a day watching the TV are fifty per cent more likely to develop asthma as compared to those who spent just an hour or so. This just goes to prove the point about leading a healthier lifestyle in both diet and exercise.

The problem lies in the breathing actions, when a child is sitting for hours on end, they ten not to breathe too deeply, it is this shallow breathing that can develop problems later on. It is also considered that children who send a long time in front of the TV also tend to have a bad diet too.
