Teenagers visit the doctor at Second Life

This is an interesting idea stated up by the Spanish Health Authorities, they have created a virtual portal where it is believed that teenagers can go to speak to someone about health matters of which they would find too embarrassing to speak about with their regular doctor or even parents.

The system will use real doctors who log into the system and will then answer any questions or offer advice to the concerned patients, but this is carried out completely anonymous basis, which makes the whole process a good start place.

It has been thought that many teenagers worried about STD’s and even drug problems can use this service as a staring point to get some initial help and information. But clearly at some stage they will need to approach their regular doctor and family.
