Can humans have super powers?

It is the thing that fuels many sci fi books and films which cover the subject of people with extra powers, but there has been some research into how the brain works and it is believed that maybe the brain is capable of extra powers after all.

The case for this comes from the study of Autistic Savant, these are people who from the outside show little sign of being intelligent, but they actually have the ability to store and recall so much information that it would put intelligent people to shame, but why?

Because of this scientists believe that there is this potential in everyone, it just needs to be accessed or unlocked. Because this happens in people who have suffered some sort of brain damage, it is believed that the brain tries to compensate by rerouting, this is believed to be the key in opening up areas of the brain that have never been used before. So maybe not super powers, but definitely super intelligence.
