Smokers quit after finding out the age of their lungs

A British study that has been published in the British Medical Journal, into effects of smoking has found that there could be a cheap, easy and very effective of way of enabling people to stop smoking. This is when a smoker is told by their doctor how old their lungs have got due the habit, they are more likely to quit and never take it up again.

But first of all the smokers need to be convinced that what they are being told is correct and not just a simple plan to stop them from smoking. So there is a need to compare the lung operation from someone who does not smoke and the lung operation of the patient.

With smoking linked to killing over four million people each year worldwide, there is a real need to find ways of helping those smokers who are hooked on cigarettes. The tests were carried out in London using smokers who were over thirty five, two groups were followed and those who had been told their lung age were proved to give up smoking over the other group.
